According to Business Insider, Apple would be working on a new feature for the virtual assistant Siri. This new feature would be currently tested by Apple’s employees and could bring a new trend in voicemails. iCloud VoiceMail would substitute your operator voicemail on your iPhone to let Siri answer the calls for you when you can’t because you’re busy or because you don’t want to. Siri is your own personal assistant after all… So Siri would take the call and be able to interact with the persons who are calling you in order to take the messages that they would like to leave you. Then Siri would transcribe these vocal messages into text messages to be sent to you.
According to Business Insider, this new feature would not be for next year but could be implemented into iOS 10 which release is expected for September 2016.
The bottom line is no matter how convenient this new feature could be, this iCloud/Siri Voicemail text messaging would mean that your personal messages would be sent to iCloud servers… How about personal data protection?
