Google has updated its web browser for iPhone and iPad: Chrome for iOS now comes with a widget to be launched directly from the notification center, and supports iOS 8 extensions. Among the new features brought by this update, Chrome for iOS welcomes now the pull-to-refresh/reload gesture.
So, Chrome for iPhone or iPad now allows you to add a widget to your notification center on your iOS device. By doing that, you will be able to launch your web browser faster than ever before, directly from the notification center, even on the lock screen. This widget installs two buttons on your notification center: the first one is the new tab that once pushed will trigger Chrome and launch a new tab in the browser. The second one is the vocal search which button will launch the microphone so that you can dictate your search directly from the notification center. Chrome for iOS is now updated to make your life even easier.
But there is more to this new update for Chrome for iOS as it is now compatible with iOS 8 extension systems. Therefore, for applications offering extensions compatible with Chrome, you will be able to install the extension directly on your web browser on your iPhone or iPad, like it’s already the case of 1Password extension.
