Pixelmator for iPad has just been updated in version 1.1. This update of the photo editing application for iPad derived from the Mac app Pixelmator for OS X brings a full loads of new stuff. Interesting. First of all, Pixelmator for iPad version1.1 allows to create visual effects the artsy way thanks to new watercolor brushes. But the painting engine has also been improved and the application now supports Adonit styluses.

These are twelve watercolor brushes that are now available in Pixelmator for iPad V1.1. They allow you to paint with quite realistic and aestetic effects on your images. But that is not it: Pixelmator for iPad now gets a new color picker which has been improved thanks to an history which keeps in memory the latest colors you have been working with. You may then very easily and quickly retrieve the latest colors of your creations within seconds.

Pixelmator for iPad painting engine has been revised for better results and this huge iPad photo retouching app for iPad now lets you edit 16-bit images in RGB as well as in CMYK, but alsoLes in grey scale for Photoshop. Pixelmator for iPad is now more compatible with Photoshop documents as you can open them and edit them from your iPad with Pixelmator. The app will even be able to manage layers. From there you can directly insert an image in a new layer, picking a photo that you may have saved on iCloud Drive.

For advanced users, the updated Pixelmator for iPad allows you to lock the alpha layer. This means that you can paint an effect on a selection or on the non transparent portion of a layer.

You can also now visualize what a brush look like on your photo when you adjust its settings in real time.

Finally, Pixelmator for iPad version 1.1 is now fully compatible with Adonit styluses like the Jot Script, the Jot Touch 4 as well as the Jot Touch. The editors of Pixelmator set this opportunity to improve the pressure sensibility of the application when use with a stylet.

Pixelmator for iPad version 1.1 is available to download form the App Store at the price of $9.99.
