Tap Tap Tap has worked hard on this new version 8 of its iPhonography app, which is among my best loved ones. Camera+ 8 for iPhone brings new great features like slow shutter speeds, super low ISO values and a new set of import / share possibilities for a smoother workflow.
Camera+ 8 : slow shutter photography
Have you ever wanted to explore the creative infinities that would offer your iPhonographer’s mind slow shutter photography ? Well, now, you may do so directly from Camera+ 8. This new feature gives you the possibility to manually adjsut the shutter speed up to 30 seconds. Vaporous seascapes, threaded waterfalls, graphic traffic car lights, just tap on Camera+ to maybe become the next Michael Kenna, my photography master. Check out his work on Japan.
You may also want to check THE iPhone slow photography app called Slow Shutter! that is 100% dedicated to long exposure photography.
Low ISO values
A clean signal to noise ratio, a wider dynamic range, better colors, sharper images, that is what you get when you stick to the lowest ISO settings of your iPhone’s sensitivity. And now Camera+ 8 permits you to manually adjust the ISO setting and to take it further down, as low as ISO 25 !
That will be great for better image quality, especially needed when playing around with the long exposure feature and will allow you to skip the use of a neutral grey density filter (AKA ND filter). IPhone + photography + more control = always great news !
New share / import options in Camera+ 8
The editor has revamped the share and import feature of the app for the best. The previous system was kind of awkward. Now, just as with any other app, you may import a photo into Camera+ 8 for editing directly from Apple’s Photos app, or any other camera app, through iOS share sheet. You can easily send to Camera+ 8 Lightbox either the latest image you just shot, or an entire Moment of your photo library. The lock screen notification center widget of Camera+ 8 now offers an option to directly import into the app. Make sure you activate and use Camera+ 8 widget on your iPhone for faster actions. It’s a time saver that can mean not missing some shots.
Camera+ 8 for iPhone available on the App Store
Camera+ 8 is now available on the App Store as a free upgrade to all current users of this photography app that I love. If you purchase it, you will wisely invest $2.99 into a great app. Tap Tap Tap, the editor of Camera+ 8, had bought the photo retouching app Filters for iPhone last year.
