Our iPhones are our digital archive tool. With its embedded camera, we capture moments, friends, our children, selfies in nice surroundings, a nice dish in a fancy restaurant and amazing landscapes during the golden hours of the day, you name it. When you navigate through the camera roll of your iPhone, you get the path of your daily life those past days, weeks, months, years. This is your story that your iPhone is capturing into its memory, with photos and videos. How about taking advantage of these personal photo archives to turn them into a monthly photo magazine of your life?
Well, this is exactly the concept of this wonderful app called Recently for iPhone and iPad. It offers you the possibility to have a printed magazine of your life with photos uploaded from your iPhone. To do so, Recently for iOS automatically selects the hundred most recent photos in your iPhone’s camera roll or from your iPad, builds the layout, uploads them and prints them all into a magazine, which is then shipped to you.
The way the Recently for iOS app works is as simple as it could be. As you open it, it displays the 100 most recent photos of your iPhone camera roll. You can organize them or skip some uninteresting images. Once you’ve done that, you can just chose between two layout options: either you print 100 photos each one on half a page or 50 photos on full pages.
Once you are done, you tap on the upload button and the app is doing the work for you. They will mail it to you once ready and printed. You have to be a US customer to take advantage of the Recently printed photo magazine application though. I hope that they will expand their service to other countries.
The monthly fee is very decent. They will ship you a magazine every month for USD 8.99 per month. That’s not a big price to pay to have your daily life printed into a real paper photo album every month in you mailbox. If you get a friend on board, you will get a discount with USD 7.99 monthly plan.
Isn’t it a simply great idea?
